This talented company began in 1980 in Washington D. C. under the creative leadership of Ayubu Bakari and in 1982 Deborah Adero Ferguson brought the Company to Memphis where their animated performances have delighted audiences of all ages throughout the Mid-South.
Some of the world-reknown performances that Nubian produces include: "Uniquely Us", "African Moods & Melodies" and "The People Could Fly". When not staging passionate and insightful productions, the group can be found conducting informances, workshops and master classes in African dance and drumming.
