The Nubian Theatre Company is an exciting professional musical theatre company, located in Memphis, Tennessee with members in Washington, DC, Texas and New York. The only folkloric musical theatre company in the region, Nubian specializes in presenting folklore and dance in Africa and African American cultures. Their performances have taken then from the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, DC to the Isle of Bermuda and throughout the East coast and the Mid-South. Instrumental in the development of the Arts In the Schools program in the Memphis City Schools System, this educational and entertaining performance ensemble is one of Memphis' and the world's most delightful treasures.

Along with its heartfelt productions, Nubian also provides the following services:

• Informances in non-traditional settings with special school performances available.
• Workshops in alternative reading methods and incentives for librarians and teachers; wokshops in improvisational theater and storytelling.
• Master classes in West African dance and drumming. These workshops explore the instrumentation and dance techniques from the regions of Guinea, Mali and Senegal, Study guides are provided to sponsors for more effective teaching sessions.
